Fish waste in British Columbia and its conservation as fertilizer
1947
An investigation has been carried out on the value and use of fish waste as a fertilizer. The material is a proteinate containing 10% nitrogen and originates as "offal", a by-product of the vitamin oil extraction process. The proteinate has been compared with commercial organic and inorganic fertilizers and certain conclusions have been reached. In addition, the minor element content, the manufacture of a complete fertilizer, and the possible feeding value of the material have been investigated and certain conclusions drawn.
