A Study on the Relation between Self-directed Learning and Self-Efficacy in High School Student

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the self-efficacy and self-directed learning ability in high school students. The subjects of this study consisted of 127 high school students. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations by using the SPSS 20.0 statistical program. more » ... ficant correlations among the all sub factors of self-directed learning ability and total score of self-efficacy. Third, there were significant correlations among the all sub factors of self-efficacy and total score of self-directed learning ability. In addition, there was negative correlation between confidence and self-directed learning ability. The results suggest that the self-efficacy of high school students are related to their self-directed learning ability and also have influence on their self-directed learning ability. Thus, in order to help improve the self-directed learning ability of high school students, it is necessary to support their self-efficacy in their school life
