Summits are meetings involving representatives of the highest level of states or international organizations. In contemporary society, these gatherings have a high frequency involving heads of state or government in debates that affect the international environment. But in some cases, these meetings are criticized because presidents or prime ministers may lack expertise in certain areas or the preparation of career diplomats.
