Fertility Outcome after Tubal Surgery

Thr results of tubal surgrry were analyzed in patirnts who underwent tubal surgery in our department between April, 1991 and Marrh, 1992. Thr patients were followed for sixteen months. The patients who underwent tubal rcanastomosis for tubal ligation. were in.eluded to compare the results. Total of sixteen patients underwent tubal surgery during this period out of which 5 had reversal. The main causes of the tubal disease were previous pelvic surgery, peluic infl.ammatory disease, and
more » ... sis. The most common tubal lesion was tubal adhrsions followed by distal tubal occlusion and proximal tubr ocrlusion. Two of the 11 patients conceivrd and had full term pregnancies. {18.187c). Three out of 5 patients (60%) who underwent reversal of sterilization. had full term-irrgnancies and one aborted (20%). No rr.topic pregnancy was encountered during the period of follow up. In conclusion tubal surgery remains the first line of managemr.nt in patients having tubal infertility.
