Measuring the performance of transit routes is critical toidentify transitoperational problems and effectivelymaximise their performance. This paper proposes a NDEA-based framework to evaluate the performance of individual bus routes within a transit network by an overall efficiency score and investigate the internal factors related to theirinefficiency. Real data from 52 bus routes in Brisbane, Australia is employed toexamine the proposed Network Data Envelopment Analysis (NDEA) model. The

The given bus routes were measured and ranked with the identification of internal sources of inefficiency, including: service duration, space-km and on-time performance. The findings provide transit policy makers with additional and useful information for decision making.
