The present experiment was conducted in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, Tezpur University during 2007-08. In this experiment, nine indigenous medicinal plants are analysed for their total phenolic contents and antioxidant activity viz. The results revealed that Moringa oleifera leaves recorded highest total phenolic content and exhibited highest percent inhibition of free radical followed by Houttuynia cordata. While, the lowest total phenolic content and lowest percent inhibition of free radical was recorded in Chenopodium album.
