Placement becomes a vital current concern in FPGA CAD flow. This paper presents a novel FPGA placement algorithm based on ant colony optimization (ACO), a new meta-heuristic algorithm characterized by inherent parallelism, positive feedback mechanism, and stochastic decision policy with swarm intelligence.
