Thc purposc of this paper is to discuss currcnt trends of such UML statc mactrine model chccking rnethods, where model checkirrg is perforrrred by translation into formal notations. Formal methods have shown their advantages for functional requircments' inconsistency checking and their climirration at early stages of development and for cnrichirrg graphical notations to reveal vaguerress and inaccuracics as discussed in this paper.
