Background. Toxic dermatitis is an adverse skin reaction caused by various factors. ... well as literature search in the MEDLINE and Scopus databases. The study was conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. The research protocol was approved by the ethics committee of the institution mentioned in the work. Informed consent of child's parents was obtained for the research. Results. The clinical picture of toxic dermatitis is very diverse, almost any type of lesion can occur, and often the clinical symptoms are very similar to skin diseases that are not caused by various toxic agents. The most common clinical symptom is maculopapular exanthema. Conclusions. The peculiarity of the presented case is toxicoderma in a child after a bedbug bite. It is important to establish the correct diagnosis of toxic dermatitis, identify toxic agent, stop its exposure and treat the adverse reaction, usually with antihistamines and corticosteroids.
