Abstrac What does not accept the contrary, that the good communication between disciplines requires agreement on definitions of terminology. Brian Jenkins has called the definition problem the Bermuda Triangle of terrorism. Philip Schlesinger, a British sociologist, even argued that no commonly agreed definition can in principle be reached, because the very process of definition is in itself part of a wider contestation over ideologies or political objectives.
