In India newly diagnosed head and neck cancer constitutes 13.9% of all cancers which is 12.8% of all cancer deaths. Concurrent Chemoradiation is considered the standard of care in locally advanced head and neck carcinomas. Nearly all patients receiving concurrent chemoradiation in the head and neck develop some degree of mucositis. Of these patients treated, some patients develop severe mucositis.
