Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate as An Inflammatory Biomarker for Prediction of Prognosis of Guillain-Barre Syndrome
2022
The Egyptian Journal of Hospital Medicine
Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) is an acute or subacute inflammatory autoimmune postinfectious polyradiculoneuropathy, usually triggered by antecedent infections during the preceding six weeks suggesting a humoral immune-pathogenic mechanism. Inflammation raises the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), which can be used to monitor the inflammatory process. Objective: This study aimed to find out if there is correlation between the ESR as a marker of the inflammatory process and the Erasmus GBS
