Presently, buffing processes are manually conducted by a technical expert. Therefore, the automation of this process is desirable. To automate the buffing process, an effective process monitoring technique that supervises the buffing tool conditions in real time must be developed. The authors propose a technique that monitors the buffing tool conditions without additional sensors.
