The work deacribed in this paper relates to the ehalkone formation from quinacetophenone monomethyl ether by its condensation with different aldehydes, the corresponding chalkones having been isolated for the first time along with the flavanones. Quinacetophenone dimethyl ether has been also condensed with various aldehydes and the chalkones have been obtained in good yields.
