This article aims to begin the understanding of prior censorship of books in the period of the military dictatorship in Brazil with regard to Brazilian authors. To study the works of these censored women and the apparent reasons for the prohibition of publications, we resorted to a literature review by Sandra Reimão, Simone de Beauvoir, Rodolfo Londero, and others authors.
