Message from the Program Committee Chairs

2019 2019 20th International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies (PDCAT)
Welcome to PDCAT 2019, the Twentieth International Conference on Parallel and Distributed Computing, Applications and Technologies, that is held in Gold Coast, Australia, during December 5-7, 2019. We are glad to see that over the past 19 years PDCAT has become a major forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners throughout the world to present the latest research results, ideas, developments and applications in all areas of parallel and distributed computing. This year we received 257

This represents an acceptance rate of 30.7% for regular papers and 6.2% for short papers. The submissions are in general of high quality, making paper selection a tough task. The paper review process involved all Program Committee members and 16 external reviewers. To ensure a high-quality program and provide sufficient feedback to authors, we made great effort to have each paper reviewed by 3 independent reviewers generally. All accepted papers are included in the proceedings. The technical program of the conference contains 4 keynote speeches and 24 parallel sessions covering algorithms, architectures, systems and software for parallel and distributed computing and networks. We would like to thank the general chairs, Geoffrey Fox, Hong Shen and Bela Stantic for their help in overseeing the paper review process, all PC members, external reviewers for their hard work in conducting all paper reviews. Last but not the least, we are much indebted to Wee Lum Tan, Can Wang, Zhe Hou, Hadrien Bride, for the effective work in taking care of all local organization duties. Finally, we wish to thank all authors for submitting their up-to-date research results to the conference, and all participants for attending the conference. We hope all participants will find the conference rewarding and the time in Gold Coast enjoyable.
