The Analysis and Evaluation of the Landscape Coordination of the Expressway Tunnel Ventilation Towers in Taihu Scenic Area

Protection of visual resource should be the premise of the rational utilization of scenic spots. In Taihu scenic area, a section of expressway goes across the lake and three ventilation towers should be set up. The landscape coordination between the towers and the surrounding environment is the main research topic of this paper. more » ... towers and viewpoints, angle relative to the observers' sight line and the probability to be noticed within the main field of vision. In addition, landscape visibility analysis consists of terrain inter-visibility analysis and field-of-view analysis. Finally, after all of these factors have been superimposed, both the directly impacted and the background areas of these towers are used to verify the reliability of this project.
