Distribution of bryophytes on Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, the Canary Islands

Forty mosses and twenty-six hepatics are reported for the first time from Fuerteventura, and fifteen mosses and nine hepatics are reported for the first time from Lanzarote, among them Gigaspermum mouretii Corb. which is new to Macaronesia. All taxa recorded so far are listed and their distribution outlined. Distribution maps are given for some of the more common species. The zonation of bryophytes is considered, and a survey of their phytogeographical affinities is given. some ecological
