The encapsulating peritoneal sclerosis is a rare but serious complication of peritoneal dialysis. The incident rate varies between 0.5 to 4.4%. This entity is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. The diagnosis requires the presence of clinical features of intestinal obstruction or disturbed gastrointestinal function with pathological and radiological evidence of bowel encapsulation.
