Accurate and efficient lane estimation is a critical component of active safety systems in automobiles such as lane departure warning systems. A substantial number of lane estimation methods have been proposed and evaluated in literature. However, a common set of evaluation metrics that assess different components of lane estimation process has not been addressed.
