Previous studies with Adriamycin-sensitive and -resistant (ADRR) MCF-7 human breast tumor cell lines indicated that Adriamycin formed significantly less hydroxyl radical (.OH) as the result of enhanced detoxification of reactive oxygen intermediates in the ADRR cell line.
