Efficient energy transfer between nanocrystalline YAG:Ce and TRITC
2004
Physical Chemistry, Chemical Physics - PCCP
Luminescent nanocrystalline (NC) Ce 3+ -doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Y 3 Al 5 O 12 :Ce-YAG:Ce) is prepared by a combustion synthesis technique that yields a highly porous three-dimensional network of interconnected 18 nm nanocrystals. Tetramethyl rhodamine isothiocyanate (TRITC) was conjugated to NC YAG:Ce by using glycine as a bridging molecule. Efficient energy transfer is observed from the Ce 3+ ions to the TRITC molecules upon photoexcitation of the NC YAG: Ce-TRITC conjugates.
