Western Energy Company has been actively involved in the evolution of reclamation seed mixes, equipment and technique since 1968. During this time the seed mix has changed from one all purpose mix composed primarily of introduced cool season grasses to four fundamental mixes (upland, lowland, conifer and supplemental), Over the years 28 variations of approved seed mixes have been planted at the Rosebud Mine.
