background: Since prepubertal boys cannot benefit from sperm banking, a potential alternative strategy for fertility preservation involves immature testicular tissue (ITT) banking aimed at preservation of spermatogonial stem cells. Survival of spermatogonia has been demonstrated after ITT freezing, which is considered ethically acceptable.
