The magnetocaloric effect is a dynamic phenomenon associated with a temperature change of a magnetic material when it is subjected to a magnetic-field change. The effect can be assessed through the adiabatic temperature change (∆T ad ) or the isothermal magnetic-entropy change (∆Sm). This work reviews some typical methods that are usually used to calculate ∆Sm for perovskite-type manganites. These methods was thermodynamic relations and different theoretical models to analyze magnetization
