Abstract: During the first half of the 20 th century, nearly ten thousand Arabic immigrants came to Chile looking for better conditions of life but they ran into some difficulties such as discrimination and lack of state support. Nevertheless, the permanent migratory movement of the Arabs to Chile was quickly adapted into the Chilean society by means of trade, education and marriages between arabs and Chileans.
