This essay discusses the progressive commitment of teaching at the public university, in quarantine COVID-19. Emergency distance education was assumed as an inevitable option for the continuity of training processes, however, its imposition is proof of thestrength of political hegemony, whose actions result in an obscurantist logic that denies science and criticism, which allows constant attacks on public universities, in addition to exposing teaching to technical-instrumental action.
