Correlation between body mass index and blood glucose levels among some Nigerian undergraduates
2013
HOAJ Biology
Obesity is a frequent co-morbid condition associated with excessive increase in weight. It is one of the most important modifiable risk factor in the pathogenesis of health disorders such as hypertension and type-2 diabetes mellitus. Association between Body Mass Index (BMI) and blood glucose level has been consistently observed, but remain poorly understood possibly because of interactions with other influencing factors. One unresolved question is whether there is a linear relationship.
