CESIUM INCORPORATION INTO PHOSPHATE SILICATE APATITES
1999
Phosphorus Research Bulletin
The management of long-lived and high activity wastes is researched along the lines specified in the December 30, 1991 French law. This work concerns cesium immobilization into a phosphate silicate apatitic structure with the highest possible quality. We studied synthesis and densification of the compound Ca7Nd2Cs1(PO4)5(SiO4)FO1/2. Microprobe analysis of the apatite shows that cesium concentration in this mineral scatters from 3.5 to 7.8 wt %.
