to a dark pink, and gradually washing out until we ended with a pale slate color, and the solubility macle it very hard to know just when we got through, becau5e the cobalt tests mould show ferrocyanide to the T ery end. -111 the precipitates were washed in bulk of 6,700 cc., allowed to settle i n bottles, then siphoned off as far as possible, and water added. Most of them had from twenty to thirty washings, and by adding bariuin chloride we were enabled to get four or fire washings a day.
