A referida temática se justifica devido à importância dessa prática para promover a inclusão do aluno deficiente visual na escola, uma vez que seus conteúdos podem ser trabalhados de diferentes formas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa efetuada junto à Secretaria de Estado de Educação, no município de Mineiros-GO, fundamentando-se nas atividades de Educação Física e esportivas contidas na proposta curricular e de formação de professores do estado de Goiás, para alunos com deficiência visual, em consonância com Lei de Diretrizes e Bases da Educação Nacional -Lei n.° 9.394/1996. Assim, a partir de uma pesquisa documental, agregada à bibliográfica em livros, artigos especializados, dissertações e teses, foram verificadas as principais concepções e abordagens para a reflexão que se propõe sobre as relações entre inclusão, deficiência visual e Educação Física escolar. Os resultados apontaram para a necessidade de se investir em programas de formação continuada docente que promovam a revisão e adoção de estratégias e metodologias nas aulas de Educação Física como recurso essencial para a formação do aluno deficiente visual, pois trata-se de uma disciplina que pode auxiliar no alcance de uma educação mais significativa e que se mostre inclusiva efetivamente. Brazilian Journal of Development ABSTRACT Based on the master degree research developed with the same title of this article, this study sought to present the conceptions raised about visual impairment and what this limitation entails to the individual due to the loss of information resulting from the reduced opportunities of interaction with the environment and the people around him/her. In view of this scenario, the purpose of this article is to investigate and understand the benefits, difficulties, perspectives, and advances of the student with visual impairment regarding the practice of sports activities and Physical Education in the school environment. This theme is justified due to the importance of this practice to promote the inclusion of the visually impaired student in the school once its contents may be worked in different ways. This is a research carried out at the State Department of Education, in the city of Mineiros-GO, based on the Physical Education and sports activities contained in the Curricular and Teacher Training Proposal of the state of Goiás, for students with visual impairment, in accordance with the Law of Directives and Bases for National Education -Law no. 9.394/1996. Thus, from a documental research, added to the bibliographic research in books, specialized articles, dissertations and thesis, the main conceptions and approaches for the reflection proposed on the relations between inclusion, visual impairment and school Physical Education were verified. The results pointed to the need to invest in continued education programs for teachers that promote the review and adoption of strategies and methodologies in Physical Education classes as an essential resource for the training of visually impaired students, because it is a subject that can help achieve a more meaningful education and that is shown to be effectively inclusive.
