In this study, investigation was conducted in 17 fishing villages in Onagawa area, in order to clarify the mechanism of coexistence, such as management of fishing place, utilization of public and religious facilities, and common ownership of cemeteries before the Great East Japan Earthquake. The following results are mainly obtained.
