De Foville ); Germany follows, in the second rank, with 3,125 thousand millions; then come the United States with 3,090 thousand millions; then England in the fourth place with 2,900 thou�and millions; and finally Russia, in the fifth place, with 2,400 thousand millions. But if we no longer confine ourselves to the gold sup ply, but add thereto the silver and paper, and divide the whole per capita, we find that the places change and that the proportion in favor of the French becomes enormous.
