Tuberculosis (TB) is caused by bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis) which most commonly attacks the lungs. Eight countries account for two-thirds of new TB cases in the world, namely India, China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, and South Africa.
