This study put forward the effect of different variable on the success level of 6th graders on the subject matters of semantics. The sample of the study was constituted by 708 sixth grades from different elementary schools from Erzurum.The Turkish questions in High school entrance examination in Turkey analyzed in our research were taken from the web sites of the institutions which administer this test.The tests administered to all the 6th graders in the sample were a "Turkish test" developed
... h test" developed by selecting the questions which were both related to the subject matters of semantics course suitable for the level of 6th grade and the essay-type test constructed with activities suitable for the Turkish curriculum in 2005. Besides, "personal Knowledge Questionnaire" developed by the researcher was administered to 6th grades in order to determine the relation between the independent variables of the research and the success of students on the subject matters of semantics. In the light of the data obtained, the students' success was found to be statistically significant based on these variables.
