To analyze the data, path analysis was used and the results showed a positive direct effect on (1) reading interest of students' discourse analysis competence with a coefficient value 0.253, and (2) achievement motivation on students' discourse analysis competence with a coefficient value 0.284. The magnitude of the direct effects of reading interest and achievement motivation on students' discourse analysis was 44.6%.
