In answer to Dr. Jones, all I can say is that the clinical picture of acute trench nephri¬ tis was quite different and distinct from other types of nephritis. In addition there were cases of acute nephritis following tonsillitis, other infections or surgical conditions with marked albuminuria but without edema, hypertension or the dyspnea which was characteristic of the trench nephri¬ tis type.
