Plunging ranula is a form of mucocele which occurs in the submandibular region. Most of them are thought to be caused by severance of a ductule of the sublingual or the submandibular salivary glands, with resultant pooling of mucus in the connective tissue stroma. Removal of salivary glands has been recommended for the treatment of this lesion, however, we had an idea for stopping the extravasati on.
