Starting an own software company is the dream of many entrepreneurs and information technology professionals due to high anticipated profit and low investment requirements. Due to increased new entrants and enhanced competition between many players, sustaining in software company business is more challenging than ever before. In this paper, we have discussed opportunities and challenges in starting a new software company in developing countries, and strategies to be adopted for ensuring its success in the global competitive environment.
