Transient stress lymphocytosis or stress induced lymphocytosis is a relative uncommon reactive process. It typically associates with emergency medical conditions, such as cardiac stress, sickle crises, abdominal pain, and trauma. Immunophenotypic analysis of stress induced lymphocytosis or transient stress lymphocytosis reveals an increase in absolute numbers of T, B, and natural killer cells with a normal immunophenotype.
