The extension of grid computing technology to ad-hoc mobile environments is giving rise to the development of ad-hoc grids, which enable wireless and mobile users to share computing resources, services, and information. However, the adaptation of grid technology to ad-hoc networks is not straightforward, and exhibits numerous difficulties (resource discovery, security, power consumption, QoS, etc.).
