Electrically tunable long period gratings in liquid crystal photonic bandgap fibers

We demonstrate an all-electrically tunable long period grating in a photonic crystal fiber infiltrated with a nematic liquid crystal. The spectral dips and the resonance wavelengths are tuned electrically and thermally, respectively.
