Aspectorophetometric assay for allicin was applied to the rneasurement of allicin in the crude extracts . When the concentration of orude extracts was adjusted to 50 mg ! 20 ml buffer A for leaf blade, to 25 mg120 ml buffer A for bulb, saIisfactory resu 賦s were obtained . Allicin content of each plant remarkably varied , and the method described in this paper could serve as a potential tool for selection of this species . For practica 旦reasons , high concentration of extracts ( 200 mg ! 20 ml
