... through social media platforms that make it possible for marginalized voices and perspectives to integrate the public arenas. The work builds a brief history of the feminist movement in order to position the campaigns as part of the scenario of the fourth wave of feminism. As of theoretical contributions, the research uses Habermas' theory of the public sphere, the theory of recognition and the feminist criticism directed towards them in order to raise questions about the ways we interact with social media platforms and its possible impact on the public sphere, regarding mainly on the public discussions about gender and sexual violence. The analysis will be centered on the cultural representations of sexual violence observed in two TV shows: I May Destroy You (2020) and Assédio (2018).
