Efficient rendering of anatomical tree structures using geometry proxy
2013
2013 IEEE 10th International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging
Rendering tubular structures efficiently is crucial for studying anatomical tree-like structures, such as vessels and airways. Most existing methods are based on surface reconstruction, resulting in complex meshes, which slows the rendering performance as the tree complexity increases. In this paper, we present an approach to render tubular tree structures using geometry proxy. We generate low complexity proxy meshes on the fly and shade the meshes as tubular objects consisting of truncated
