The paper presents the interwar Chair of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Faculty of Medicine of the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius. The Chair was consecutively held by two professors: Tadeusz Burdziński and Władysław Jakowicki. ... ized team of productive researchers. The clinical unit was a desirable institution, as evidenced by the constantly growing number of patients. For a long time significant housing difficulties limited its full potential, which had an impact on the quality of teaching. Despite the limitations, the quality of the medical services provided did not differ from the European standards of the time.
