Development of soft skills by local authorities and self-government officials

The article explores the economic content of hard skills, soft skills, their advantages and importance for the formation of a highly qualified leader of a local authority and self-government. The main advantages of hard and soft skills are clarified. Unlike solid skills, soft ones allow a leader to make decisions faster, be a leader, organize and manage teams, large teams, effectively negotiate, be a good speaker, delegate authority, prioritize, manage time, resolve conflicts. The components of the skills demanded by Soft Skills of the leader are systematized. The attention is focused on the fact that for a successful manager it is important to find the optimal balance between hard skills, soft skills. The most important organizational, cognitive, vital, communicative, speech, social, entrepreneurial, technical and media skills for the leader are considered. Thus, Soft Skills is a collective term that refers to many behaviors that help people in personal and teamwork, as well as allow them to socialize successfully. Leaders who have these skills can not only give better results, but also help create a comfortable atmosphere in the team. In order for a leader to be able to fully develop and effectively manage, he needs self-reflection and work on himself, the desire to learn and constantly update knowledge and skills based on the requirements dictated by scientific and technological progress, time and situation in Ukraine and the world.
