Development of a Teacher-rated Social Skills Scale for Preschool Children

This study developed a teacher-rated social skills scale for preschool children. Classroom teachers (N=100) were asked to rate the social skills of preschool children in their classes. Factor analysis of the data obtained for 1,493 preschoolers revealed three factors: assertion skills, cooperation skills, and selfcontrol skills. The reliability of the scale was examined using Cronbach's α and the test-retest method, and was veri ed by satisfactorily high coe cients. In addition, the construct
