We do not believe that it is necessary to repeat blood glucose testing within 1 hour after surgery. Rather, it is more important to know the blood glucose level at the time of acute cerebral ischemia since these levels are usually temporarily elevated with surgical stress. This may not have a significant effect on the results of the study anyway because the experimental conditions were the same throughout.
