Kenneth O. May and information retrieval in mathematics

From 1966 to 1977 Kenneth O. May led a team of University of Toronto staff and students that aimed to produce the most comprehensive general reference tools to date for the history of mathematics. The major published result was the 1973 Bibliography and Research Manual of the History of Mathematics, but also in the works was a dictionary and thesaurus of mathematical terms linked to their use in the literature.
